My Dermalogica Skincare Routine 2021

"Invest in your skin, you'll wear it every day
for the rest of your life." - Renée Rouleau.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that skincare is so important to me, I chat about it quite a lot on my Instagram, it’s something that I invest in, because it doesn’t matter how good your makeup products are, if your skin isn’t in good condition, your foundation won’t be able to work miracles! I’m a huge fan of Dermalogica, I started using their products about a year and a half ago, and I’ve never looked back – it has completely transformed my skin! I get asked quite a lot what my favourite products are, so I want to share it here, as a permanent reference point.

I’m going to break this post down into what I consider the essentials, and then the products that I think are a great added bonus. Please do bare in mind that these are the products that work for me, and may not suit you – but if you pop over to the Dermaogica website HERE, they have a Face Mapping Service and Virtual Skin Consultations that are really helpful.

My Essentials

My Dermalogica Essentials

These are what I consider my essentials!

I always double-cleanse my skin, so I start with the Precleanse, I especially love this when I’m wearing heavy make-up as it literally melts it away.

Next, depending on how my skin is feeling I use either the Ultracalming cleanser, if my skin is feeling sensitive or red – usually more-so during the winter months, due to cold weather, central heating, etc.

Or I use, the more commonly used Special Cleansing Gel – your face feels so squeaky Clean after this!

Every couple of days I use, what is probably Dermalogica’s most iconic product – their Daily Microfoliant. This is an exfoliating powder that leaves my skin feeling brighter, smoother and I definitely feel my moisturisers and serums work better after using this.

In the morning I tend to reach for The Redness Relief Essence and Ultracalming Serum Concentrate to help counteract the redness I tend to get throughout the day.

At night I use the Biolumin-C Serum – this stuff is amazing! My skin is brighter, more radiant and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my fine lines – particularly across my forehead.

Both day and night I follow-up with the Active Moist Moisturiser, I feel this is light-weight enough to wear during the day but still really hydrates my skin both throughout the day and at night.

The Bonus Extras!

The Active Clay Cleanser has been an absolute saver for me over the past while, with trying to combat Mascne. While it cleanses, the Charcoal purifies and adsorbs impurities to help balance skin. I use this specifically on my chin area – where I’ve been breaking out the most.

I use a couple of different SPFs, but in terms of my favourite from Dermalogica, it’s definitely the Invisible Physical Defense. It completely disappears on the skin and is excellent as it provides added blue light protection and helps soothe away the effects of environmental aggressors.

The Hydro Masque Exfoliant is by far my favourite Masque from Dermalogica – it contains little bubbles that you burst on your skin, in the areas that need most attention. It’s both exfoliating, hydrating and soothing all at once – and it only takes 5 minutes to work so it’s a very hard-working product that I use about once a week.

This is a little kit that contains small versions of some of the products that I’ve listed above and might be a good way of trying out Dermalogica products to see if you like them.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it was helpful; do let me know if you try some of the products above and what you thought,
