Canopi Sleeves For Breast Cancer Research

As some of you will have seen on Snapchat or Instagram, a couple of weeks ago I was invited to a photoshoot with Canopi Sleeves.

For those of you that dont know, Canopi Sleeves are seperate sleeves that can be worn under a dress or top  They clip to your bra straps and sit just under your bust, meaning they give your arms coverage but due to their design there’s no bulk in unwanted places – I know, I can hear you swooning already! They come in a huge variety of colours and styles.

For the month of November, Canopi Sleeves are donating 10% of every online sale to Breast Cancer Research. Our extended family has been hit with cancer in many forms over the past few months so when I was contacted about coming to the photoshoot and meeting the generous woman behind these ingenius pieces, I knew I couldn’t refuse.

As the owner of Sandz fashion boutique in Ranelagh for 15 years, I was often moved by the number of times women shy’d away from buying beautiful dresses because they were sleeveless.

I went on to design Canopi, an add on separate Sleeve that women could wear under their dresses to give them the arm cover & confidence they needed to wear any dress. – Sandra Walsh, Canopi Sleeves

So, one Saturday morning, a few weeks ago, I arrived at the beautiful home of Creator and Designer of Canopi Sleeves, Sandra Walsh. I can honestly say that it’s been a while since I’ve met someone with such energy and warmth – it was actually infectious!

This was a photoshoot with a difference, Sandra had rounded up her friends and family to be the models for her new campaign which is aimed at “real women”. There were beautiful ladies of every age, shape and size taking part and it was such an inspiring day to be part of.

I didn’t realise turning up, with tossled hair and barely done make-up, that I’d also have my photos taken, but I got swept up in the excitement and rolled with it!

Canopi Sleeves are stocked in various stores Internationally and here in Ireland, including Brown Thomas, Arnotts, Harvey Nichols and Fran and Jane. You can find a full list of stockists on their website – www.canopisleeves.com

This is such a generous campaign which involves investing in something timeless and elegant. I’ll be wearing my sleeves under dresses in work. I’ve also been trying them under short sleeved knits as you get the much sought after, layered effect, without adding any extra layers around your tummy. Keep an eye on my social media accounts over the next few weeks as I’ll be sharing just some of the ways you can wear them.

Remember to tell your friends and family, as 10% of every item purchsed from their website will go to Breast Cancer Research, a fantastic cause. If you do purchase any sleeves be sure to share them on social media, tagging Canopi Sleeves, Breast Cancer Research  – @BCResearchIre  – and me of course, as I’d love to see them.

I’d like to add that this is not a paid endorsement, I just think this is a wonderful woman doing a generous thing that personally touched my heart and I wanted to share it with you.

Be sure to follow Canopi sleeves on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
