Every year, in late January or early February we head to the Laois Hunt Ball, if you’ve been following me for a while you might remember my posts from previous years. It’s always a great night – an excuse to get dressed up and a chance to get all the gang together! In the last little while, I’ve realised more, and more that you need to surround yourself with people that make you smile until your cheeks hurt and laugh until your tummy aches – that’s exaclty what my friends do…and more!
This year, for once, I was actually organised and went into Folkster in Kilkenny to get a gown. Red wouldn’t usually be a colour I’d wear but I just tried this dress on, along with quite a few others and as soon as it was zipped up I knew I loved it! I love dancing, and having the absolute banter so it’s really important that my dress is comfortable enough to allow me to do that – this one completely ticked that box! It’s so well lined, which makes it really flattering (and hides the effects of the four-course meal!) I kept my accessories really simple with gold, delicate pieces.
I’ve mentioned this a number of times before, but every time I visit Folkster I am so, so impressed with their staff – they are the friendliest, most helpful group of ladies I have come across in retail lately. They go above and beyond to help you find something that suits. The shop décor is also a reason to visit in itself!
As always, I’ve linked everything below and I’ve included all the makeup details too.
Dress – Folkster || Rose-gold Bracelet – Absolute Jewellery || Gold Bow Detail Bracelet – Kate Spade at Kildare Village || Initial Necklace – Chupi || Earrings – Primark/Penneys (similar here)
My hair was by Amanda in Sharon and Jackie’s Hair Salon in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.

I am, by absolutely no means, a Make-Up Artist but it is something that I enjoy experimenting with.
