How to Do The ’70s Inspired Winter Maxi

posted in: Fashion | 2

Hello you lovely bunch!

Last Sunday I attended an event in the Glenlo Abbey Hotel with the Into The West Blogger Network. It included afternoon tea and most importantly, a chat with Erika Fox from Retro Flame. You can read all about our fabulous day right HERE!

I knew I wanted something a little different to wear so I was worried because usually when I’m looking for something specific I can’t find i! However, as soon as I saw this dress in the window of H&M I knew it was what I wanted! I’m a huge lover of maxi dresses during the summer months and this year they are defiantly sticking around for autumn/winter too! This season we’re seeing the winter maxi with higher necks and longer sleeves to take us through the colder months.  I’m a massive fan of ’70s inspired style, as many of you will know, so this ticked all the boxes for me (never mind the highstreet price tag – bonus!).

I love this dress because you could easily wear it with navy tights for when the weather gets colder; throw a faux fur gilet over it and you’re well on your way to being a ’70s diva!

The navy background with the gold detailing is gorgeous. Naturally, I teamed it with gold accessories but kept it simple as there is quite a lot going on with the high neck, long sleeves and all-over gold embellishment.

I popped on the brown belt, as I felt in photos (there are always plenty of those at blogger events!) it may look as though I was wearing a big sack, so I wanted to keep my waist defined. I added the maroon, suede, fringed bag and beige suedette booties and I was ready to go!
