If you’ve read my “5 Things I’m Doing at 25” post, you’ll know that one of the things I’m trying to do this year is invest in more timeless, key, wardrobe essentials; rather than buying too many bits and pieces. I want to start working towards a capsule-style wardrobe of good quality clothes. I’m not saying that I’ll completely forget about buying trend-based pieces but I want to reduce how much I do this. The first two things on my list were a black blazer and a good pair of ankle boots. I actually happened to find both of these on the same day, a couple of weeks ago!
A good blazer is such a handy thing to have in your wardrobe, it can dress up any top for a night out or can be worn with distressed blue jeans for a casual, weekend outift. When I saw this blazer in Zara, I knew it was the one! The pearl closure is so gorgeous and makes the jacket look like it cost more than it actually did! It’s exaclty the longline cut I was looking for without being boxy – at 5ft2″ I find that the oversized blazers just swamp me but this is nipped in at the waist, which I love.
Blazer – Zara
So, here are just 3 of the ways that I’m going to be wearing this blazer:
Look 1: Casual & Comfy
This is a look I’d wear on a Saturday heading to town; it’s as comfortable as you’ll get without wearing actual sweatpants!
Jeans – Zara (old stock – similar here) | T-shirt – H&M | Cage Bra – Topshop | Sunglasses – Ray Bans | Necklace – Chupi | Nike Air Max – Office
Look 2: Smart Monochrome
This outfit also includes my new boots – these were quite an investment for me – but already, I’m so happy with them. They are the most comfortable shoes I own – after my Air Max, that is!
Jeans – River Island | Shirt – River Island | KG Kurt Geiger boots – House of Fraser | Sunglasses – Ray Bans | Bag – Guess
Look 3: Evening Glam
Bralet – Penneys/Primark (similar here) | Heels – Zara | Biker Leather-Look Pants – Only (old stock similar here) | Watch – Marc Jacobs
So there You have it – 3 of the ways I’ll be wearing this classic blazer!
